Sweden’s clean, tasteful and impeccable-finished middleweight brands are the darling of global fashion editors; but there is more to Sweden than Acne. Filippa K might not be the most glamorous brand to come out of Sweden, but it is definitely one of the best: simple, luxurious basics that aren’t ridiculously overpriced. The men’s show last week showcased that to perfect effect: slimcut chinos, sleek shirting and perfect Ts made for a clean silhouette, with more directional items like a black bomber and a contrast-collar single-breasted mac added some design nous. Overwhelmingly though, the Filippa K show filled us with #clotheslust for the kind of pieces that you’d wear day-in, day-out and style up or down depending on your mood. I swear by their chinos, and even tumbles on both a catwalk and a roof in Sweden couldn’t damage mine (though kudos to the Nobis hotel for having them cleaned, pressed and back to my room in unbelievably quick time) and I was back to Scandinavian chic in no time. As if that wasn’t enough, their Chelsea boots are TDF.
